Well I'm sure you are all wondering if I'm just going to leave the wordless Wednesday on for this week as well but I won't,its been very busy over here with trying to get the harvest done so I haven't really had time to do alot of posting, but now that I finally do have some time, here are some of my favorite pictures of harvest this year.
I hope you enjoy them:)

Praise the Lord we are almost done with harvest for this year,it has been a wonderful year and we are so very thankful that no one on the farm got hurt,it's something that you always think about and always pray that God will protect us all if it is his will.
We are so blessed for all that God has given to us,and we thank Him for another wonderful season of harvest.

Canning Apple Pie Filling

Here we are again, canning something, but we like canning, and in the winter everyone really enjoys eating it so you just gotta do it.
Well last week we picked the apples and then we waited for a rainy day so that we could can them. Now that we got that rainy day we canned them:)
Picking the apples.
We were very blessed to get lots of apples this year.
Then the canning began the darker stuff is apple pie filling with apple pie spice in it
and the lighter stuff is plain apple pie filling.
Ruth and Raymond kept the slicers and peelers going hard,
(having a race every now and then helped them to keep going)

Rita scooping the filling into jars.
Then when everything is done it's all ready to go into the pantry.
Praise God for all the wonderful fruits and vegetables he has blessed us with to last us through another winter.

Cutting Silage

Well this last week we were very grateful for the wonderful weather we had,the sun and the wind helped dry the silage that we had in the swath,so when the workers with the silage cutter, the trucks, and the packer came on Wednesday morning it was dry enough to start with cutting right away.
So here are some pictures of everything that went on on our farm from Wednesday till Thursday.
Reuben putting up the "trucks turning"sign by the side of the high way.
The boys were experiencing something new but they all enjoyed it.
Randy had a great time going along on the big truck with Ryan.
The silage cutter.
Unloading.
And loading.
The packer.
And after the fields were all done we had a great big pile of silage.
Then came the part that we were not experts at.
Tarping it.
We did it in the morning before it got to windy, but still we did get quit a bit of air under it so we ended up using a grain vac to get some of the air out and to make it tighter.
Miss Rita,the coffee break lady.

Then when we had the tarp on we put dirt all around it.
And now we have two big piles of silage ready for the cows to eat in the winter.

Canning Corn

Monday morning we picked, husked and canned our corn.
As always there were willing helpers. Randy being goofy as he is helping. Once again there was a bountiful crop.

Raymond is measuring the salt into each jar.

Monkey see, monkey do! If you take a picture of me,I will take one of you.
Ruth filling the jars. With lots of helpers we can have the job done in no time. We work assembly line style. So once we are done washing the corn is almost all in the jars as well.

After the corn is picked they chop it off, load it up and haul it to the cows for a treat they enjoy.
