SEEDING

Wow,I can imagine that some of you might think we must have forgotten about our blog.....
But we didn't!
If you don't live in Manitoba then you might not know that we are experiencing an early spring, and in Manitoba if you are farmers and you get an early spring that means you start seeding early too,and that's exactly what we have been busy with.

Here are some pictures of what we have been busy with lately.

That day Mom and I were busy driving the big trucks filled with fertilizer and seed. We drove them to the fields where ever they needed them.

That's my Mom and Dad.

Filling up the air seeder.

This is my Mom helping load the seeder,I love her very much!
And this is my Dad driving the seeder,I love him very much too!
Spreading fertilizer.
And the BIG tractor.

Riding Horse

With this beautiful weather that we have been having minus the wind :) we have enjoyed riding our horses again,in the winter it's to icy and cold so we have to Wait till it gets nice out again.
Yesterday we went for a horse ride and enjoyed it very much.
Here are some pictures.

Since the fields are not planted yet they are great for riding on,and our horses really liked getting out of the pen and going some where new.

Reuben and Echo, his horse really doesn't mind how you ride him :)

Rita and her horse Dakota.

And me and my horse Texas.

WOOD CUTTING

We had alot of dead oak trees in our pasture that needed to be cut down for firewood. Henry was not sure how to cut them down so they wouldn't fall onto good trees. So Mr.Dyck offered his expertise at that and helped us out. Together with his grandsons,Daniel and Tyler they came for a good part of the day and we got alot of cutting done. It is amazing how much wood can be cut from one tree. I was standing there and thinking, how long could we heat with one tree? I'm sure we'd be surprised at how long it would be. But one thing is for certain, not nearly as long as it takes for the tree to grow that big. We have no idea how long ago some of those trees have been planted.

Reuben and Tyler unloading the HUGE logs. Now that's a job for boys with muscles!

Mr. Dyck getting the tree to fall in the right direction.

As I was standing and watching some of those big trees thud to the ground I was reminded of the verse in Ecclesiastes 11:3. It talks about where the tree falls there it shall be. As it drops to the ground it will never make another move. So it is with us as humans. When our time on this earth is over and God takes our final breath away. How will we fall? Will our lives show that we have been serving an eternal God? And do our actions count for eternity? May we be ever mindful of how we spend our time of grace. Thank you dear Lord for another day of grace and protecting each one throughout the day.

Our new Truck

We upgraded!!!
Well I'm not sure if any of you had seen our (old) truck,we live on a farm so a truck is necessary and very useful,we have been driving this old Ford for about 8 years and it is 16 years old so it is definitely not a new truck any more.
So after MUCH praying and shopping around for the right truck, and trying to find one that was in our price range, this is what God lead us to.........

Our brand new TRUCK!!!

No it's not like a 2010 new,but for our family it is a new Ford F350,2004 Pick up Truck.

Praise the LORD!

Reuben putting on the new licence plate.

And Ruth getting all comfortable, thinking that she'll definitely be able to do with leather seats :)

Just Sisters

Yesterday we got to Church and the three of us girls were all wearing matching skirts and shirts(of coarse Rita and I live together so we knew)but Yvonne (our soon to be sister in law)had no idea what we were wearing,so it was kinda neat to come to Church and see that we were all matching.
So any way since it was such a BEAUTIFUL day we went out after the service and got some really cute pictures of us girls!
Enjoy!
Ok it was really nice out side but it was just little bit windy,
as you can see our hair is kinda every where :)

Then I took some shadow pictures of Rita.

Royal Manitoba Winter Fair

On Wednesday our whole family and The Pauls Family and our Cousins went to the Winter Fair in Brandon, this fair happens every year, and is very interesting cause it has so many things to enjoy like horse jumping, dog shows, pig scrambles, horse shows and lots of other things.
We had a great time again this year, and enjoyed it very much.
My Mom and Dad (thanks so much for taking us!)
My brother Ryan and his fiance.
Josh and Becca
Even Andy got to come and I think he had lots of fun.
It's an all day thing so we just packed lunch and supper at home and ate in the bleachers.
Two VERY cute little cowgirls.
First off was horse jumping, and this is the arena where they did it in,all the jumps set up.
And let the jumping begin!
Sorry about the bad picture quality but I couldn't use a flash.

It was so much fun to watch the horses jumping,it kinda makes you want to come home and try it on your own :) (of coarse I didn't though :))

Here are two of my very favorite cowgirls.....

Rita and Kerri

This is the heavy horse hitch with the Clydesdale horses.

Me feeding my nephew Andy (who else :))

And having lots of fun.

And the One Armed Bandit show,it was so cool to watch him round up three wild horses and actually bring them up on to the top of his trailer.

And then every one had a great time during the....
SUPER DOGS!!!
So after the day was over everyone was tired but we had all had a wonderful day.
