Memories Monday

Well since winter is still upon us and there's not much going on at our home I thought I'd share some memories and pictures of the weddings that we've celebrated in the last two years

The first one was My big sis Becca, the first wedding in the family.

I'll never forget that day,it was filled with so much happiness laughter and even tears :)

The whole day was so very special and it was filled with wonderful memories that I'll never forget.

Kerri and Rita the candle lighters.

Jenny and I

All the kids from both the families,it was quite the bunch, but getting together, planning, making the food and getting ready for the wedding together,I'd never do it differently.

Jumping for JOY!!

In the back room just before the wedding started us girls spending some good times together.

And all the time enjoying every minute of it.

Making sure that were all ready to go.

Special moments

And the happy couple.

We love you guys LOTS!

And then about a year and a half later my brother Ryan and Yvonne got married.

They got married in July,it was a perfect day,it was so nice and warm out side for taking pictures and everyone had a wonderful day.

We did pictures before the ceremony cause they were having an evening wedding.

I got to go along with Megan (The Photographer) and I had a great time!

Mom and Dad
After the pictures were all finished we went to the park, had a snack, relaxed and just waited till it was time to head to church.
After the ceremony is always the most fun, just watching everyone have a great time and celebrating!
Their wonderful photographer,
Megan.
You did a great job girl!!

Fun in The Snow

This morning the children were all out to make an inukshuk. The kind of snowman you can make in very cold -28 C. weather. When it is this cold the snow doesn't stick together to make a ball. They gathered some hard ice/snow blocks and stacked them up,pouring some water on to make them stick together.

This is our kind of snowman :)

How blessed we are to have all the seasons to so richly enjoy. Even though they aren't always pleasant,we can surely make the best of each one.

What Really Matters

When I start thinking about what I've all done in my life that's really going to make a difference when Jesus comes back to judge me for everything I've done,I start feeling like I really need to get to work and do something that's actually going to last.
I've made myself busy with so very many things it's crazy, and when I really think about it it doesn't make me feel very good. Then I ask myself
What exactly am I doing here anyway?
I know I'm not here just to have fun,and do things that never will make a difference in my life,
I'm not here to just live my life and then die,and hope that I'm going to heaven.
I know that there is so very much that I can do for Jesus, and when I think about it I'm so sorry for all the time that I've wasted doing things that don't bring honor and glory to GOD.
It's so hard not to get caught up in all the fun things that we can do,and put all our effort into them. And then end up not ever having time for Jesus.
I wonder how many times could I have told someone about Jesus if I would not have been so busy doing stuff for me.
When Jesus comes back there will be no more time to do that, then our time will be up.
I know that I don't need to look very far to find someone who has no idea that Jesus came to die for their sins and to save them.
It's never been easy for me to talk to people about that, especially when I don't know them very well. But in the end we'll be so blessed for everything we've done for HIM!!
I guess what I want to say is,when we do something is it pleasing to God? Does it honor and glorify Him? Does it lift up His name so high that everyone around us can see that we are living for Him?

Excitement on the Farm !

For the last couple of days there was a guessing game going on around our farm. We all knew that "Brooke" our milking cow was soon going to freshen or have a calf so to say. But who would be the closest to the right day. Reuben had his eyes open and was watching with great care to any changes that would lead to any indications. So last night we came home as a family, the rest of us were just eager to get home and retire for the night. But Reuben suggested we stop at the cow barn and see if there was anything happening. Sure enough coming back to the van,"Dad she has started, the water bag is out!" But Henry knowing the cow from other years that she was the one that liked to take her time with this birthing process said that we would go home and after awhile we could all go back and see. Besides she was also one of our cows that liked to have some privacy during this time and any on-lookers would prolong the whole procedure. But at home they where changed in a flash and ready to go back to the barn. Only two of the children went at first and were going to come and pick up the rest if it was close. They weren't gone very long and they came back with the news "The calf is born!" So it was they all had to go see and welcome "Little Buster" to the farm!
So today mother and baby are doing OK but the sad thing is Brooke did not get to keep her calf by her side. Seeing she supplies our family with milk, cream and butter she needed to say good-bye to her calf.

Henry figured the cow had been so smart to quickly have her calf while the children were changing, because they would have been sticking around until she had given birth. Seeing we haven't had a calf around here for sometime excitement was high and for that reason the calf has a name already!

For the beauty of the earth,For the beauty of the skies,

For the love which from our birth Over and around us lies,

Lord of all to Thee we raise,This our hymn of grateful praise.

For the beauty of each hour Of the day and of the night,

Hill and vale, and tree and flower,

Sun and moon, and stars of light,
Lord of all to Thee we raise This our hymn of grateful praise.
Again we have been blessed with another wonderful year of,safety, food, clothing, family, friends and most of all the freedom to worship our Creator and Saviour.
May you all have a blessed new year.
